The Nepal S.A. is a non-technical ice axe ideal for trekking, classic snow climbs, rental programs, and schools. The carbon-steel head features a classically inclined pick with teeth along half its length. The body and pick are hot, drop forged in one piece, then the stamped adze is welded to it. The Ergal shaft surpasses UIAA norms for strength and durability; it is coated with black, epoxy-based paint. Version with shaft S.A.

Para caminar, para travesías, para rutas de hasta 45 grados de inclinación, a mi me viene genial. Me gusta que sea largo para apoyarme, no es incómodo si tienes alguna zona un poco vertical, y lo mejores la correa, que al ser larga te permite engancharla en una mano e ir cambiando el piolet de mano sin riesgo a que se te caiga pendiente abajo. Lo recomiendo sin duda.
Estoy en un nivel de iniciación, para el que me parece bastante útil, aunque la dragonera creo que es larga y echo de menos la empuñadura de goma. Lo que si me gusta sobremanera, es la longitud, pues el uso que le doy es para darme seguridad en las travesías por hielo y nieve usándolo como bastón. Mi altura es de 1,95.
