The Gully ice−axe has a slightly curved shaft for improved swing. A steel head and 3mm banana−shaped pick provides efficient penetration and easy unhooking.

Lo he usado una vez pero es lo que buscaba para mis rutas de skimo o "paseos" invernales. Quizá el único hecho que me gusta menos es que no se puede atar a un sistema "imperdible" en la parte del regatón y que el pico es de tipo B por el grosor que tiene pero aún así es perfecto para travesías y corredores no muy técnicos. No es apto para uso en hielo ni paredes muy verticales ni tampoco merece la pena para travesía glaciar o trekking invernal exclusivamente por su corto tamaño. Lo veo util en Skimo o alpinismo clásico o corredores de nieve sin hielo ni pendientes elevadas (55º o más).
